How
to BUY or SELL at Handcycle Exchange
- If you're a buyer:
- Call us at, (989) 422-2950, or
email us and
let us know exactly what you're looking for... especially if
you're seeking a used handcycle or used accessories. In
those cases, we will always keep our eye out for your request
and we will keep a file for the products you are seeking.
When and if we locate an item that we believe may fit your
needs, we will of course let you know right away. At that
point, we will make arrangements for you to purchase the used
items direct from our site.
- If you're selecting a pre-made product off
our site, just follow the PayPal links or you can also
call or email us and we'll be glad to answer any questions and or
process the order over the phone. If you prefer, you
can also mail in an order to the address shown in the upper left
corner of each page and we will process those orders usually the
same day they are received. In most cases, the products
will be shipped the very next day. We accept all major credit
cards via PayPal, certified, bank or cashiers checks,
money orders and once a relationship is established, we will be
happy to accept your personal checks in most cases too.
Additionally, you do not have to have a personal PayPal account
in order to use their service. All you need is a major
credit card and they will accept and process the order just like
a regular merchant credit card account.
- If you're a Seller:
-
Email or phone
us with as much information as you can supply for the products
you wish to list. If you're selling a used handcycle please
refer to our basic equipment specifications, (SEE BELOW),
before you contact us. Here is a list of things we would
like to know right away so we can put together a nice ad for
you. Also, please be ready to supply us with
several good close up photos that can help show the true
condition of the bike you are trying to sell. We will also
consider posting a video of the bike if it has unusual qualities
that justify being demonstrated with motion pictures.

In addition to the basic specifications, please
let us know about any special circumstances that relate to the bike.
For example, do you have all the books and tools that came with the
original purchase?. Are there any extra's that go with the
bike, (IE; tools, tires, tubes, cushions, etc.). The more you
can tell us about the bike, the more information we have to create a
good ad page which may help us sell your equipment faster.
-
Once we have all the information, we will create
an ad and prominently list it at our site. When we have a
potential buyer we will contact you for the specifics of the sale
and set up shipping
-
It is the responsibility of the seller to have
the bike safely packaged and shipped to the buyer once we provide
you with a shipping address. Most cities have a Pak-N-Ship
or comparable retail shipping outlet that can handle the complete
process of packaging and shipping a used handcycle. In most
cases they use a common carrier truck line that may charge anywhere
from $150 - $300 for the complete processing of your shipment, so
please consider those costs when selecting a listing price for your
used bike. In the rare case whereby we may have a buyer that
is willing to pick up the bike at a mutual location or possibly at
your home or business, the shipment savings is strictly your own.
-
Once the bike has successfully arrived at its
new home in good condition, or is picked up by the buyer, a check
will be cut to the seller for the amount of the agreed upon selling
price less our current commission rate of 12.5 %.
-
If you have parts or accessory
items that you would like to list, like crank arms or wheels for
example, again we need good photos and descriptions. Once we
have the information we'll list the items and have you follow the
same shipping and payment procedure as listed just above for used
bikes. Our current commission rate for these items is 10%.
